Drywall installation, repair, and re-texturing is a satisfying and surprisingly easy skill to learn. With the right tools, some simple techniques, and a bucket of mud, you can finish new walls and ceilings or restore damaged ones. Learn to fix cracks, holes, and patches so they disappear, and save yourself hundreds of dollars in the process. Join this supportive beginner-friendly workshop, expand your handy DIY skillset, and connect with a community of fellow makers!

Skills & Concepts You’ll Learn:

  • Preparing surfaces for repair or installation

  • Cutting and installing sheetrock

  • Taping and finishing joints, nails, and corners

  • Repairing cracks and holes of all sizes

  • Blending and matching wall textures (knockdown, stomp, swirl)

Equipment & Tools You’ll Learn:

  • Screw guns, taping knives, trowels, texture tools, and more

Class Outline:

  1. Prep & Planning: Key terms, tool overview, layout planning, and material selection

  2. Demonstration: Installing drywall on stud walls, cutting to size, and repairing damage (including patching holes)

  3. Hands-On Practice: Installing drywall using screw guns and practicing repair techniques. Please be aware that due to the nature of teaching plumbing in a workshop setting, hands-on practice will be limited.

  4. Wrap-Up – Review and Q&A

  • Class Capacity: 15 maximum, 5 minimum
